So much for staying on top of this...

I had every intention of getting on here more and nearly a month has passed. Oh well. Its a work in progress. Greg's parents came to visit 2 weekends ago. It was a really nice visit and Haley had special fun learning some bad habits from Grandpa. I told him he wasn't allowed to teach her to spit out her food until she didn't have problems gaining weight. She needs to keep that in as long as possible! Haley had fun climbing on Daddy on the floor and Nana captured a few good shots.

Haley enjoyed sitting with Nana on the couch!

All dressed up for church and playing with Grandpa!

Grandpa teaching Haley to bang on the table.

Just hanging around with Daddy!

MMMM! Prunes!!!

65 Dollar Wreath...

So yesterday morning, Gracie, our cat, decided it would be a good idea to try to eat a wreath in the garage. I went to let her in and she was sitting on the top of some shelves we have furiously scratching at her face with her tongue out. I went and carried her inside where she continued to do this and I noticed a little blood on her paws. I gave her a treat to see if she would eat it and she did. She then went and ate some food and drank some water and curled up on the bed. I called the vet anyway and they said to bring her in right away. I hadn't eaten breakfast or fed Haley yet so I grabbed milk I'd pumped the night before and threw it in a bottle and packed up Haley and the cat and headed to the vet. They put me in a room so I started to give Haley the bottle while we waited. Of course the stupid thing was leaking like it usually does. I'm going to Target today to buy a different kind, I'm sick of the Avent ones leaking unless you get the lid on JUST right. So Haley is getting fussy and not getting fed so I've got to get her out and start nursing her while we wait. The tech comes in and is like "uhhhh... can we just examine her in the back to give you some privacy?" so I'm like sure thats fine. I manage to fix the bottle so she can eat from it. They checked Gracie out and think that she just had something stuck in her throat but she got it down. Her tongue was a little swollen which they think is from scratching or biting it so they gave her a shot of cortizone to help with that. They just said to watch her for the rest of the day. She's fine and is acting normal. We left her in the house last night and I'm going to clean out the garage a little more carefully before we put her back out at night.

Needless to say, that stupid wreath cost me 65 bucks and a hectic morning. So it is now in the trash :)

So we really haven't been on here in a loooong time...

So a lot has happened since I last posted. I started this thing and then life hit and I just forgot about blogging so I'm going to give it another shot. To basically sum up the past year...

Greg and I had our beautiful baby girl Haley Elizabeth at 5:42 AM on March 8, 2009. She was 7lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. We are absoultely in love and mesmerized by this beautiful creature that has graced our lives. She just turned 6 months a few days ago and it is incredibly hard to believe that half a year has passed since she joined us! We actually just got her 6 month pictures done with Kaitlin from 2point5d photography and look forward to posting some here for you to see soon!

Haley has started on solids, FINALLY! I've been trying for about a month and a half to get her to eat them! The doctor said that I should try having someone else feed her so Greg gave sweet potatoes a try and it was a hit! We're now trying to back up and get some rice cereal in with it as well in the hopes of calming her digestive system down a little bit. God put odor in the poopoo... (If you're not familiar with Bill Cosby's sketch on family you need to see it!) Aunt Libbie visited over labor day weekend and we made window treatments! I love the fabric, it has dragonflies on it! I miss my friend!
I enjoyed sewing so much (on my grandmother's sewing machine that I actually LEARNED to sew on) that I went and bought more fabric and made a tablecloth to go with it :)I realize that we call her Aunt Libbie, even though she isn't her aunt. Haley will ask me someday why she has about 8 more aunts than she is supposed to. I figure I'll explain it then. We also decided to get some free Chick-fil-a. If you wear a team jersey or logo they'll give you a free sandwich so I exploited my child for chicken :)We're preparing for the fall series of visitors. Greg's parents are coming next weekend, followed by Sarah in October, and my mom maybe in October as well. I'm sure Lyssa will visit somewhere in there too. So hopefully I'll have pictures of Haley and all her "fans" in the days to come. Well I'm going to see if I can get my hubbie away from football and watch a movie!
