So yesterday morning, Gracie, our cat, decided it would be a good idea to try to eat a wreath in the garage. I went to let her in and she was sitting on the top of some shelves we have furiously scratching at her face with her tongue out. I went and carried her inside where she continued to do this and I noticed a little blood on her paws. I gave her a treat to see if she would eat it and she did. She then went and ate some food and drank some water and curled up on the bed. I called the vet anyway and they said to bring her in right away. I hadn't eaten breakfast or fed Haley yet so I grabbed milk I'd pumped the night before and threw it in a bottle and packed up Haley and the cat and headed to the vet. They put me in a room so I started to give Haley the bottle while we waited. Of course the stupid thing was leaking like it usually does. I'm going to Target today to buy a different kind, I'm sick of the Avent ones leaking unless you get the lid on JUST right. So Haley is getting fussy and not getting fed so I've got to get her out and start nursing her while we wait. The tech comes in and is like "uhhhh... can we just examine her in the back to give you some privacy?" so I'm like sure thats fine. I manage to fix the bottle so she can eat from it. They checked Gracie out and think that she just had something stuck in her throat but she got it down. Her tongue was a little swollen which they think is from scratching or biting it so they gave her a shot of cortizone to help with that. They just said to watch her for the rest of the day. She's fine and is acting normal. We left her in the house last night and I'm going to clean out the garage a little more carefully before we put her back out at night.
Needless to say, that stupid wreath cost me 65 bucks and a hectic morning. So it is now in the trash :)
